Fatty Frog Pots handmade pottery is the creation of Jennifer O’Keefe, in her home studio located in Indianapolis, IN, USA. She handles every aspect of the business herself, with just a helper at local shows.
Jennifer has a favorite quote: "It's never too late to be who you might have been" ~ George Eliot.
After being at home with two daughters for many years, spending much of the time involved with their activities and sports, she began some soul searching, trying to think of a career choice that she would love while still having a flexible schedule for family activities. Even as an adult and mother of two children she would say, “I still don’t know what I wanna be when I grow up.”
She was drawn to the warmth and usefulness of pottery for many years and loves that it is such a hands on craft. She finally had the opportunity to learn to make ceramics and to set up her own studio in 2011, and it has been a very rewarding experience. It is amazing that you can take clay, which is essentially mud, bake it a couple of times and the prettiest, most useful things are the result!
And to satisfy the frequent curiosity she explains that the family has kept many types of tree frogs and dart frogs, which inspired the name of the shop! Their biggest frog is nicknamed "Fatty Frog".
A portion of proceeds helps pets in need.
