This money clip is adorned with a 1943 Steel Wheat Pennycoin. It has been hand riveted on to salvaged brass.
The 1943 steel penny was minted due to copper shortages during WWII, but was unpopular with the public due to its magnetic qualities causing jamming in many vending machines. To solve that problem, in 1944 and 1945 the US mint recycled large brass shell casings, often brought back from naval gun ships.
It is 1.5" across at widest, and 2.75" long.
Makeshift money clips can be adjusted to securely hold your preferred thickness of bills, cards, or a combination of both. Artist's instructions for adjustment are included with your purchase.
